Job Opportunity: Post-Doc Position - LCAs of Anaerobic Digestion Facilities

A successful candidate should have a background on dairy, poultry, beef, or swine manure management, nutrient content of manure, and the effect using anaerobic digestion to transform manure and food waste feedstocks and life cycle assessments (LCA) of digestion technology, including climate change implications of digestion technology implementation compared to other manure technologies. Background knowledge and experience is needed in anaerobic digestion of manure or manure+food waste co-digestion, nutrient management, life cycle assessment, and greenhouse gas emissions from digestion implementation. This position will require knowledge of policies associated with manure and anaerobic digestion with only minimum work in laboratory analytics.

A PhD is required in a relevant field, such as engineering, chemistry, microbiology, environmental science, agricultural economics, agricultural policy, or soil science. The post-doc position is a one-year, 100% research position, with no teaching responsibilities.

Expected start date is October 1 2022, with a one-year contract. The base salary will be $50,000 USD/yr, with a University of Maryland benefits package.
